Hiking Trails

Summerhill has many kilometres of scenic walking trails just waiting to be explored.  If you have friends or family visiting from out of the area, this is the ideal location to bring them to.

The various walking trails take in areas of pasture and forest walks, native bush and creek crossings.

From the car park, there is an easy ridgeline walk through pasture to the adjoining Pāpāmoa Hills Cultural Heritage Regional Park. In this area you have the opportunity to visit historic Māori Pā Sites, and from the top of the hills you can really appreciate the absolute beauty of this amazing coastline and surrounding area.

Lambing and Calving season:

Summerhill is a working sheep, cattle and forestry farm.  During the lambing and calving seasons (August to September), we invite you to visit and walk the farm to enjoy all that Spring has to offer!  During this time, we kindly ask that visitors exercise extra caution around the animals for both your safety and theirs.

Walking Conditions:

There are many walks at Summerhill that are conditioned for amblers, runners and persons of intermediate fitness. Some trails are shared with mountain bikers, so please be considerate.  Please note that, at times, the trails can become slippery.

DOGS ARE NOT PERMITTED AT SUMMERHILL
